About Me

Creating a personal blog is one of the scariest things I’ve ever done. It’s just so…..well, personal. We do our best to present ourselves as all polished up and perfect, when, in reality, life just isn’t perfect. Exposing our human-ness is genuine vulnerability. It is a “standing on stage in your underwear” kind of reality. But to build genuine community, with genuine friends, we have to let our genuineness shine fourth.

My life came crashing down in 2021 when my 27 year marriage came to an end. It was excruciatingly painful and would alter both my life and my children’s lives forevermore. My storybook life was not playing out as I had anticipated, so I had a decision to make. I could let it end here in a sad heap or I could write new chapters that would lead to a happy, although different, ending.

This blog is about my personal journey, learning to listen for God’s voice, lessons I am learning, and beautiful discoveries along the way. It’s about using what God gave me to turn this one life I have into something beautiful and rewarding.

For years now, I have earned a living as an accomplished Sales Manager, but that has not been an especially creative field. My creative outlets have remained on the sidelines, as hobbies in my spare time. We each have our own gifts and talents and I truly believe that in order to live out authentic and satisfying lives, must use those in some way to feel complete. We can find it especially rewarding if we use them in the service of others. This page is my creative outlet, helping me to purge all those ideas that fly around in my head, like bats chasing mosquitoes at sunset.

I believe it was author Brene Brown that said to “write what you need to read.” That is excellent advice. I am finding my own way to write a new story, share, create, connect, and encourage other women to live their own best lives. Hopefully in the process, leaving a lasting and fruitful legacy.

I welcome you here and hope we can become fast friends !

Much Love!

Allison
