The Master Plan

If you don’t go after what you want, you’ll never have it,  If you don’t ask the question, the answer is always no.  If you don’t step forward, you’re always in the same place.”

Nora Roberts

Have you asked yourself what you want out of life? Do you have a mental picture of what that looks like? I did not and up until recently had not given much thought to the idea of that.  But, I now realize with crystal clarity the importance of that exercise in planning.

I read once that Michelangelo was reported to have worked on his marble sculpture “David” for more than two years, sleeping beside it when not working on it and said, “I saw the angel in the marble and carved until I set him free.”  What a vivid concept that gives us for setting our inner angel free.  Keep carving until she is revealed. What does the real you living deep inside look like? Are you ready to chip away the rough edges and stony pieces to reveal the masterpiece?

A Master Plan of your life can give you a blueprint for building your future self.  Get as detailed as possible, down to what you would be doing, the type of person would be married to, the job you would have, your children, etc…. all of what you envision.  Of course none of us can make life turn out exactly as we have planned, but as it is with any journey, you have to know where you are going in order to get there. Take those first steps out of your comfort zone.  It will give you the courage to keep walking it out, one step at a time towards Her. Each and every choice you make determines your steps in the direction of what you truly want. Ask yourself if the choices you are making are contributing to this mission or not.  Does the choice bring you closer to the person you want to become and the plans God has for you?

Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.  Proverbs 16:3
