Flourish

The words FLOURISH and FRUITFUL have many meanings.  Among them are:

Flourish

1. to grow luxuriantly: Thrive
2. to achieve success: Prosper
3. to break forth: Bloom

Fruitful

1. Producing much fruit
2. productive, useful, effective, successful
3. fertile

So, what do you want to be when you grow up? Don’t know? Me, either! For as long as I can remember, I have had career ADD. My focus on choosing one, specific career path for the rest. of. my. life….. has been fleeting, as each new day brings a new idea that I really NEED to look into. Although I have remained in a sales career in the wholesale distribution most of my life,  I have always been fascinated by women who have forged a lifelong career that they are not only successful at, but also passionate about. In my free time, I enjoy reading and researching different careers, their educational requirements and the job outlook for their futures.  I read about women in a variety of fields and how they got to where they are. Finding a job you love does not mean that you will not have bad days or difficulties. But, it does make life more enjoyable!

Oprah Winfrey has a wonderful quote about this,

“If you do work that you love, and the work fulfills you, the rest will come.”

We each have God-given strengths and talents.  The real trick is to dig down deep and find them, hone them and use them for our benefit, as well as the benefit of others. Our true purpose in life is using those talents to Glorify God by serving one another. When we do that, chances are, we will FLOURISH and leave behind a lasting and Fruitful Legacy.  What are your gifts, talents, or passions? What contribution to this world do you want to be remembered for long after you are gone? What can you do to serve others? Lots of questions to be answered, right?

So join me as we delve into many different career choices, what they entail, the education required to achieve them and the pros and cons of each one.  And truthfully, don’t we all need to know what you get to wear to that job and how much money you can potentially make? Real life information, if you ask me!
